If you want that cozy, five-star feeling in a drafty room, shortwave emitters are the way to go. They pack a punch. But here’s the thing: these units pull a lot of power the moment they kick in. If you’re installing a row of 2kW lamps, your electrical panel is going to feel it. I always suggest using dedicated circuits. Trust me—you don’t want to be the person tripping the breakers right during the morning rush when everyone is trying to get dressed.
Real-world installation (and the trade-offs)
Putting these on the ceiling is a no-brainer. It keeps the floor clear and means nobody can mess with the settings. But you have to find a balance. If you mount them too high, the heat spreads wide, but it loses some of its “bite” by the time it reaches the floor. Mount them too low? You’ll end up with “hot spots” where people feel like they’re standing too close to a campfire. It’s all about finding that sweet spot.
